The average web hosting package will run you around 9.99 a month. So, overall it’s not that expensive. But what if you’re an avid Internet marketer operating 100 or more websites at the same time? Your web hosting expenses would be $1,000, a cost that would be too steep for many people. An alternative solution would involve considering the power of free web hosting.
Okay. I know what you’re thinking. Free web hosting… doesn’t that mean your website will be barraged with advertisements that are not yours? Well, most free web hosting providers do require that you post advertisements on your website, but not all of them are obtrusive. For example, consider the free web hosting package available with Geocities. Their advertisements are through pay-per-click ads that appear in one area of your website. But the user has the option of minimizing these ads if they seem too annoying.
Then there are a few free web hosting providers that will offer ad-free hosting. How can do they do this? It depends on the hosting provider you work with. Some will offer free web hosting in exchange for your participation in their online forums. Others can offer free web hosting because revenues are generated from ads displayed in your hosting panel. That’s right… instead of requiring the webmasters to display the ads on their sites, these types of hosting providers simply make the webmasters view the ads themselves.
All in all, free web hosting doesn’t have to be as ominous as many Internet marketers make it out to be. In fact, it can be a great alternative for hosting one-pagers through which you are selling e-books or promoting Adsense pages. True, you don’t have as much control or space as you would a regular hosting account, but then again you don’t have the monthly fee either.

There is always a catch behind a free offer, you should be aware of what you are giving away when accepting a free offer, and that it will not limit or hurt your website in the long run.
