If you don’t know anything about website design, you should consider getting a web hosting company that will allow you to create a website right from your control panel.  An example of such a web hosting company is Geocities.  Basically, the web host will provide a series of templates through which you create your website.  These templates already contain professional graphical layout.  So, all you have to do is enter in your content.  Best of all when you’re finished, you won’t have to upload anything, as all of your work is done in real-time.  The web host will automatically post your site on the Internet as you are completing it.

Of course, don’t expect elaborate websites when you use your web host to create them.  In fact, when you create websites from a web host, you usually cannot even edit them outside of your control panel.  The exception could be if you manipulate the site’s HTML, which could be too complex for beginning webmasters.  So, if you plan on creating a more complicated website in the future, using templates from a web host may not be the best option for you.  Yet, for most beginning webmasters, this option can allow them to quickly create effective websites without having to spend thousands for a website designer.
